Tips to Make Working Remotely Seamless

In this day and age, organizations who don’t allow remote work are an endangered species. Employees are seeking more flexible schedules and the opportunity to work in an environment they create, and it’s paying off – 62% of people think that working remotely positively impacts employee engagement.

1.Create multiple channels of communication so employees don’t feel left out- slack, online meetings, conference calls etc.

2.Encourage a culture that accepts working from home by suggesting managers also work from home periodically.

3.Provide guidelines on working remotely- An employee may not know how to get started or understand the expectations.

4. Maintain accountability- Be clear for those employees who decide to ‘work from home’ but actually need to take a sick day. Working remotely does mean that employees are actually working.
